Global Electric Electronic Processing (GEEP) is a provider of electronic recycling services (www.geepglobal.com). They provide reverse logistics, refurbishing, remarketing, end of life recycling and commodity analysis and sale. They take used electronics and either rejuvenate them and put them back into the market or turn them into end of life commodities which are then used to build new electronics. The Barrie facility provides cost-effective, environmentally conscious asset disposal solutions for the recovery and recycling of commercial and consumer products. Redundant electrical and electronic equipment are refurbished and remarked. GEEP provides all electronics recycling and remarketing needs for computer and peripherals (desktop, laptops, keyboards, circuit boards), electronic and audio visual (TV, monitors, CD players) and telecom (cell phones, modems). Their data security solution ensures complete erasure and/or destruction of sensitive data on IT assets for a wide range of industries including banking, finance and government.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will have full P&L responsibility to manage and grow the Barrie division. While you will have full support from head office (located on site), it will be up to you to further develop and expand the customer base and to improve operational efficiencies Your strong technical background in manufacturing and operations combined with your in-depth business skills in sales, marketing, costing, budgeting, logistics, human resources and health and safety, will enable you to begin to understand this complex business with multiple revenue streams and logistical components.
The Barrie plant is one of six divisions across Canada. With 300 employees, it is by far the largest and most capital intense of GEEP's facilities with a range of processing equipment unique to this site. The processing involves Reuse to refurbish devices or take them apart for spare parts. Cell phones, computers or TVs are usually checked and refurbished or disassembled for parts. Recycling consists of plastic or metal casings, circuit boards, batteries and wiring. Many devices contain precious metals like platinum, gold, silver, copper, tin, aluminum, but also rare earth metals. The various processes include: Sorting using manual disassembly. Batteries, toners and cartridges are removed, parts of TVs and monitors disassembled to remove toxic lead and mercury; Shredding where the devices are shredded to pieces; Sorting where the shredded pieces are processed further using a number of methods including manual sorting, removing metals with a magnet, filtering materials based on density using vibrating conveyor belts or centrifuges and identifying materials with infra-red light; and Contaminate Removal.

Ensure compliance Occupational Health & Safety legislation and regulations
Participate as an active member of the senior management team
University degree (business, IT, engineering)
P.Eng. preferred (mechanical, chemical, electrical)
Strong operations experience in a manufacturing environment
A proven track record of understanding and growing businesses
A solid financial understanding with experience for bottom line P&L
An entrepreneurial mindset
Demonstrated experience in finance, sales and operations
Proven ability in building and managing successful teams
Successful track record of achieving budgeted results while improving operations
A desire to be part of a growing organization in a new industry
