The Company
The Creemore Home Hardware Store retains the charm of a small town hardware store. It has been part of the Home Hardware chain for 40 years and is one of the anchor stores in the quaint Village of Creemore. Creemore is famous for its Creemore Springs Brewery and trendy boutiques. It has become a popular stop for 'city folks' looking for a fun getaway.
The Creemore Home Hardware has been acquired by a new owner with a vision to return the store to its former place as a vibrant hub of the community. He and his staff are making a concerted effort to encourage residents and visitors to once again 'Come on Home'. This is not a big box feel. Instead, it's big service from a tiny place! When you enter the Creemore Home Hardware, you step back in time with hardwood floors and a slowed down pace. Here you experience old fashion service and selection combined with a small town friendly attitude.
The Position
You will be responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient service to customers, advising them on appropriate merchandise and related items; processing transactions (cash, credit card, debit card) using retail point-of-sale software; ticketing and replenishing merchandise, cycle counting; general housekeeping of shelves, loss prevention, merchandising and restocking.
Most of all, you will be responsible for putting a smile on every customer's face!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure customers are greeted warmly and promptly
Determine customer’s needs by asking open-ended questions
Communicate product knowledge to the customer as appropriate
Assist customers in locating and comparing merchandise
Assist customers with finding all items needed to complete their project
Resolve customer claims or complaints in a timely and courteous manner
Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience and take steps to rectify if they haven’t!
Work the check out as required
Maintain check-out area and merchandise displays
Keep store tidy, cleaning the store and check-out area at the end of the shift
Process special orders for non-stock or out of stock items
Change prices on merchandise, bins, displays, etc. as necessary
Participate in regular cycle counting, and assist in taking annual inventory counts
Location: Creemore
Hours: Part Time with flexible schedule including Saturday
REQUIREMENTS
Friendly, outgoing and helpful attitude toward customers
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness to learn
Good math skills
Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere
Prior retail experience beneficial
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
